Hi everyone

I have a Garmin Etrex Vista, which requier a serial port. On my laptop with

Hello Ole
Loook in the manufacturer's site. What model is it? Is it "prolific"?
Aten? I have few drivers if you still need.

The adapter that you bought didn't come with drivers?
What brand is it?
Is the driver built in to Windows?

The USB-Serial cable from pfranc.com is known to work, and their page has
some discussion about drivers.

I had this problem too, but fortunately the XP driver for my USB/
serial converter worked with my 32-bit Vista. If I was starting again
I wouldn't go down the converter road, I'd buy a PCMCIA RS232 serial
card, they seem to be cheap enough at places like eBay (but watch out,
there are a lot that don't work with Vista, read the small print).
