I have a nuvi765 and will use via points a lot. I have 2 questions please.
I will be wanting the unit to put the points in the correct driving order.
How can I tell which order the stops have been put in? What if I change my
mind and want to delete on of those stops in the middle of the route? I
know I can scroll through the route turn by turn but that is not a practicle
answer to either question. Help please.

Thanks... Bob

Bob,

Adjustments can be made via

Tools > Custom Routes > Current Route

Where you can add or Remove Points
Manually Reorder Points
Optimally Reorder Points
Stop Navigation
Recalculate

I hope this helps

If I wanted to leave my house, go to 10 different via points and end back at
my house is there any way to get Garmin to plot this circular route?

Thanks... bob

Yes you can!

Just enter your via points, one after the other into your nuvi and let
your device plot a course.

Now Manually Reorder the points using

Tools > Custom Routes > Current Route

[It's a little tricky at first till you learn how to do it with the
screens, but once you do, it's pretty fast.] You will, of course save
this route. Later, if you are on the route you can even re-adjust the
via point order as you see fit.

This way you can have your 'grand circle route' that you are looking
for.

You might find it is even easier if you do your work on MapQuest and
then have MapQuest save the route to your nuvi. Much, Much quicker.

See my article

----- Using MapQuest May Make It Easy

It's on Page 9 on the

site

I even have a slightly easier way using MapQuest that I will publish
in a follow-on article. But you might be able to figure it out now
with the new MapQuest software (Build A Route) that went to alpha a
little over a week ago (without fanfare).

Using a combination of MapQuest and your nuvi's Manually Reorder, you
can have the route you want.

Notice to others: The technique only works with nuvis that have 'route
planning' [700 and 800 series, the n=FCvi 1490, 1690, 5000]

It works on the Zumo 550 and 660, and also on my StreetPilot. Really it's
only the dumbed down lower range Nuvis that have had all the sensible routing
facilities removed.
