No available updates for my unit (Nuvi300). Yet simply searching for pizza
places reveals many incorrect phone numbers and many places that are no
longer around. Places that have been around for over two years are not
located....
How often does Garmin update this thing? I wasn't planning on using the
POIs much when I bought the unit but realized how handy it is after owning
it for a few weeks. Now I'm disappointed that the data is so poor.
Perhaps Garmin should partner up with someone like, oh, say, maybe... phone
book companies?
Garmin gets their data from Navteq. You can report map errors, missing or
obsolete POIs here:

I agree with you!!!! I just bought a nuvi 660 and I have found that a
large number of places are not located. These places have been there
for 3 to 4 years. I would expect to have better information. I am
very disappointed. Almost makes we want to take it back.

You can take back anytime you wish, but with only 6 mils of POIs I
wouldn't expect to see lot of them.
Well maybe I was a little hasty . . .
You know when you get a new toy and the first time you try to locate
something it comes up with nothing. The second thing is a no hit as
well. Then you try a big store like Sam's Club that has been there
three years and you come up empty again.
It seem to work fine for address routing. My wife loves it. I am
warming up to it after a slow start.
