here's another 2nd email I received from Garmin Tech Support yesterday about the
400c being discontinued even though if you call Customer Svc ( which I did the
other day) they will insist it has not.. this email was in my response to my NOT
sending in my unit for repair...not worth it

Not a problem. Definitely feel free to contact us again if you change

That is correct, the Oregon 400c is/has been discontinued, largely due
to being the release of the 450/550 series Oregons that have a few
additional features that our customers prefer, mainly being a
tilt-compensated 3-axis electronic compass.

unfortunately it has definitely been discontinued... just as the Ggarmin tech
said in an email back to me...
