Nuvi - urban walking in Germany

just got back from a couple of weeks in Germany....
Had bought the map for my Nuvi 255, and dragged it along.
Did a little driving - from Munich to Nuremburg to Berlin -
that was pretty much normal...
But also tried to use it as a guide from the train station to local hotels..
This was the first time I tried to use my Nuvi in an urban setting &
walking.
It was very mixed -
Took a long time to try and find the sats from out of pocket turn on.
Had to hold outstretched to get good reference, and not turn, or put in
pocket.
Narrow streets, 4-story buildings blocking the sky.
It was a little painful and not what I expected.
Will have to try again around the Chicago area, and get another feel for ped
mode.
