I would like to save a copy of all my Favourite Places
etc. in case this unit packs up and I lose the lot.
Anyone know how this can be done? I have the lead but
most data on the Nuvi looks gobbledegook!
Also is there any other "interesting" data worth loading
from (or to!) the Nuvi?
Thanks
You didn't mention the model BUT on the old Nuvi 350, connect the unit to
your computer, go to the "My Computer" icon and open the Garmin folder.
Opening this folder, you will see a file called "GPX". Opening this, you
will want to copy and save the file called "Current GPX" It's probably all
different on your model Nuvi so this is probably not worth much!!!

If you install the Garmin PC application called MapSource, it has the
ability to transfer waypoints from the Nuvi and save them on your PC.
Bruce.
The easiest way is to download a free copy of EasyGPS and send the
favorites to that. You will then be able to look at them, delete any you
don't want and then save them as a file. you can also use EasyGPS to
send coordinates to the GPS.
