In the manual of my nuvi 760 (GTM21, Europe) it says that when there is
a delay detected that the nuvi is a traffic icon with the number of
minutes delay and will calculate an alternative route.
A bit further on in the manual it says that when I tick on the traffic
icon displayed and have a look at the traffic situation I can choose the
option 'avoid'.
This seems a bit in contradiction to me.
Anybody has some clear experience on these 2 items?

If you have under "Navigation" in "avoidences" "traffic" marked it will
calculate automatically a new route. Else you will see the traffic icon with
the number of minutes delay.

The quality of this depends of course on the accuracy of the traffic info.

ISTM that it will calculate an alternative route, and use that route if it
would be quicker than sitting in the traffic, but you can insist on
avoiding the traffic even if it seems it'd take longer.
