Is the 750 slow to establish satellite reception? Once reception has
been established, is it likely to lose reception driving through cities
with tall buildings? Is "rain fade" a problem as with satellite TV?
This looks like the GPS I want but I had the questions.
Thanks for your response.

I would guess that 'slow' depends on what you consider as normal. My
750 can take anywhere from 10 to 30 seconds to acquire enough
satellites to give good positions. That's from a cold start, where I
just moved it to that car. If the unit is left plugged in to a
powered outlet and turned off using the slide switch, it comes on with
the needed satellites all ready acquired.
I've never had my unit lose reception while driving nor have I noticed
anything like weather fades. However the signal it receives is in the
microwave range and is subject to all the problems of microwave so I
guess it is possible.
I can tell you that I am very happy with my 750. I have no idea if it
will meet your needs or not, it does meet mine.

Thank you for your reply. I like the Where Am I feature and the number
of routes. I ordered it this morning.

I wish the 700 series were available when I purchased my GPS. The neatest
feature I think is that when you disconnect it from the car power adapter -
it remembers where the car is !! tres cool imho

I was at Denver shopping mall one night where all the exits look alike.
Apparently, I took the wrong one. I finally had to get Security to
help me find the car. A very humbling experience. Never more! :-)
