My Nuvi shows the altitude in meters although the speed is miles/hour.
Any way to get the altitude in feet?
Thanks

You sure can .............

Go to Wrench > Locale > touch the km and change it to miles, then OK

Since it shows speed in M/H I thought it was already set and I just=20
checked and it is set to miles. It has the latest software but nothing=20
I do seems to change the altitude display.

Weird. I'd suggest contacting Garmin tech support, although a lot of
browsing in the menus might turn up a setting for latitude units...

OTOH, a meter is practically 1.1 yards. If you're OK with arithmetic in
your head, you could:

Multiply meters by 3 and add 10% to the result, or
Multiply meters by 10 and divide the result by 3.

E.g.
1200 meters -> 3600' + 10% (360') gives 3900', or
1200 meters x 10 = 12000, and dividing by 3 gives 4000'

My converting calculator gives 3937'.

OK, I admit I picked an easy number :-)

Maybe, just maybe, the USofA is (finally) metricating - by stealth ;-)
