To anyone who has one of these, or maybe any nuvi 6xx series..

Do you find...

...the wide purple road, in 3D view, so wide it covers up some road
details including some roads at junctions ?

...the speed camera warnings (red banner and beep) a bit erratic,
doesn't always operate ?

... the red speed camera banner (top of screen) will change to a red
banner containing the next instruction thus lossing the speed camera
warning ?

.. the garmin speed camera database doesn't appear as comprehensive as
some others ?

..the car symbol on the map is too large, especially when you zoom
in ?

..the predicted arrival times are far too optimistic ?

..it announces the turns too early eg 0.2 miles (this could do with
been adjustable) ?

...it can appear to miss out some turns eg you can sometimes get a
right turn announced when there is in fact a left turn followed by a
right turn ?

...it tries to send you down very mionr roads when they aren't the
fastest (see other posts on here) ?

No

Actually, I"ve been amazed at the accuracy. I'm sure it varies under rush
hour conditions in many major cities or other traffic tie ups, but it does
adjust as you go.

Varies with conditions. If you happen to be in the left lane of a major
road with heavy traffic at 75 mph, the 0.2 may be barely enough time to get
over. ON a back road with no traffic and you are doing 25 mph, it may be a
bit far. Adjustibilty may help, but you can have different condition on the
same trip within minutes.

I've not seen that, at least not yet.

Thanks for the comments.

as for the predicted arrival times..."...but it does adjust as you
go.", I'd agree it's always right when I arrive ;O)

... the river names too prominent with much bigger fonts than roads
etc?
... the national parks are too bright a green to see the roads ?

        No

1. The screen is just about same size with StreetPilot so no larger screen
here. And StreetPilot handles bright sun light better than Nuvi which
doesn't do well on bright sun.

2. Yes, the 3-D looks better because it can cover up the turn better than
2-D can. Or if you switch to 2-D then you may see the POINTER is often off
a little.

3. No, the Nuvi display LESS information than StreetPilot (I don't have
other to know the difference)

NOT directly from Garmin but those customed POIs you can either create
your own or download from others who created and give them free on some web.

I have downloaded and installed some, but pretty much never go to the
state with those POIs, and since Nuvi doesn't display any POI symbol on
screen I have no idea how it works.

The CAR symbol just fit the road, and Nuvi can only zoom in so large, and
no benefit for zoom in all the way as it won't should anything more than
enough to display Street Name.

About detailed displaying Nuvi is very poor

> ..the predicted arrival times are far too optimistic ?

It's kinda ok, but TOO small to read, and don't update as often as the old
StreetPilot.

> ..it announces the turns too early eg 0.2 miles (this could do with

You can stick 2 fingers in your ears <BG>, but this isn't the most
important part so just enjoy whatever it has to offer. Matter fact, I like
StreetPilot little more as it reminds me more than Nuvi.

If you read my report, and I think I lets you to have more time to do more
reading to learn more about it.

GPS is computer and we are human, try to learn what the computer can do to
make our own decision.
