Today I had to do a day trip from Michigan (eastern time zone) to Chicago
(Central).
The expected arrival time was done all in Eastern time zone. i.e. It told
me that I my arrival time was 10:00 a.m. when it really should have said
9:00 a.m. Also, the clock (the time) in the Nuvi never adjusted to Central
time (stayed the whole time in eastern time zone - even after driving an
hour in Central time zone). I turned the unit off and on my return I
turned it on (after hours being shot off) and it still showed Eastern time
zone (Michigan), even though I have been in Chicago for hours... I thought
the unit would adjust the time automatically based on my location...?

looking at the 300/350 Garmin manual,
http://www8.garmin.com/manuals/Nuvi350_OwnersManual.pdf
it appears you manually set the Locale -
which includes the TimeZone - page 46
I know some of the latest models do an auto-timezone thing,
and I was just over in New Buffalo,
and unfortunately didn't notice the ETA time on my 255... in either
direction.

I don't think any of the Nuvi's auto-adjust the time zone. What if you
lived or worked close to the dividing line and the displayed time
jumped back and forth constantly? I think it's manual for a reason.

The old Nuvi's like the 300 and 600 series units do not automatically
adjust the time zone. It is a feature that has been recently added to
the newer line of Nuvi units, the 1200/1300/1400 series. You would
think that it would have been a standard thing but it is not.
