how is the SD card used / merged
with the data residing
in the Garmin Nuvi 260 internal memory ?

ie -
what can be copied to the SD card from a PC,
and then how does the Garmin find it and use it ?
ie - jpeg photos, POI Loader files, etc

Hi
I have a 260w the external card I put in created garmin, garmin/poi
and JPEG directories. Custom POI's are loaded onto the card. My screen
is 480x232 so I just resize mine, but it will autoscale any images
found.

If I hold my finger on the Satellite signal bars for about seven
seconds you get to the satellite screen, battery will give debug info.

Because Iuse linux at the moment I've manually created my POI's and
images to upload along with proximity alerts etc. Then use wine/poi
loader to install.

tnx for the info -
I don't have an extra SD laying around, so I need to get one,
but wasn't sure how it would be integrated...

Also - tried to bring up the SAT or DIAG screens ?
Do you turn it on, and when the normal screen appears,
then you "press & hold" the respective corner for awhile....
On my 260 - the icon below the sat (where) or battery (view map) lights up,
and then when I let go - it goes to that screen.

Hi
I just manually created the JPEG one as that is where I put my images
to integrate with the POI.

Yes, when the unit is turned on. You need to use your finger tip for
the satellite bar or battery bar, I have on occasions jumped to the
wrong screen.

FYI - from the Garmin FAQ -
Amazing that the Nuvi 200W appears to have different firmware than the other
2xx series.
My Garmin Nuvi 260 shows: Version 3.40, Audio 1.80, & GPS 2.30M
---

Question: What is the Satellite Information page, and how do I access it on
my nuvi?
Answer:
Note: The Satellite Information page is NOT available on the nuvi 200, 250,
or 260.

The Satellite Information page displays the strength of the satellite
signals you are receiving and your GPS accuracy. It also displays the
coordinates (latitude and longitude) and elevation of your current location.

To access the Satellite Information page, start on the Main menu:

* If you have the nuvi 3xx, 6xx, 8xx or 5000 series, touch the reception
bars in the top left corner. The bars are only visible on the nuvi 3xx and
6xx series if the antenna is flipped up.

* If you have the nuvi 2xxW or 7xx series, press and hold the reception bars
in the top left corner.
