Can anyone explain this one ?

I'm using MapSource to handle my 'Favourites'
then uploading them to my 255W.

I have addresses in the 'comments' box for 99%
of the waypoints which don't dislay in the unit.
There are some waypoints I'd prefer to see
address on-screen in the full or category list.

I see that an address is displayed for Garmin :
'Liberty House, Hounsdown Bus P
Southampton, UK SO40 9RB' in smaller size
print and on two lines albeit the comment box
only contains the words, 'European HQ'.

There's also a complete address showing for an
Aldi supermarket which *I* added which shows
more detail than I originally input ???

Is there any way of adding addresses in this format
for my 'normal' waypoints ?

Obliged for any help.

I don't know anything about European (Garmin and location), but in general
YES Garmin has included nore/less 6 mils of interesting places so there is a
chance that the "Liberty House" already included in the POI.

If not you can always create/add to your personal favorites. Garmin may
not point the the exact spot, but often within few inches or meters and it
would be hard to miss the big "Liberty House"

Yes, too long to go into again, but see my post in google groups archive
for this group:

Since I made that post I also found you can use a limited sub-set of HTML
tags to increase/decrease font size, bold, italic, colour etc.

There's a little more you can do with plain old CSV type files too.

Thanks Dave, it's obviously not a straightforward process but I've
copied the post and will have a play with it when I get a chance.

Apologies for responding to my own post.
(bad form and all that)

I asked about an address being displayed for some waypoints
(I quoted Garmin) in smaller size text and on two lines and if
there was any way of adding addresses in this format for
'normal' waypoints ?

DaveG came up with an answer requiring what would probably
have caused a fair bit of head scratching on my part.

But, thanks to Jerry M's post :
'MapSource software version 6.16.1 as of May 13, 2010',
I've discovered, on updating, that there is now a facility to
do exactly this.

May be of interest to others ?
