Nuvi 2360LMT

Looking at the specs of this new Nuvi, I'm impressed.
I especially like the voice control feature, since Garmin dropped the
remote control feature. I expect to use it to zoom in and out.

Really, is there any good feature this GPS doesn't have?

Unless the nuvi 3790T drops in price from $450 to $350 around Black
Friday, I am going to opt for the nuvi 2360 LMT for my next GPS -- in
a series of GPSs that I own.

The only things that I might want to investigate further is the better
screen resolution of the 3790T (800x480 pixels vs. 480x272 pixels) --
will it, as I read somewhere, allow more 'street naming' on the map;
the supposed extra hour of battery life (4hrs.) over the 2360 LMT
(3hrs.); and the possible faster reactions of the 3790T due to a
different chip.

Still, with the lifetime map updates, of the 2360 LMT, it may be the
better, and cheaper, choice for me.

When it comes out I want to read more about the screen resolution
improvements and what they do, plus any increase in speed of the unit.
As many have discovered, advertised battery can be a Grimm's fairy
tale -- so is there much of a difference?

For me, voice control over zoom may be enough that I don't need the
multi-touch of the 3790T nor it's My Trends (don't need the GPS as
much for places I already go to), or Traffic Trends (maybe for
others).

It looks as if I am painting a better case for the 2630 LMT even as I
write this.

Well, further discussion and ideas are welcomed here. We won't really
know 'fer sure' until someone gets one in their hands during the last
quarter of 2010 and starts writing about their experiences here, on
other forums, CNet.com, etc.

When the 2360 finally comes out, it'll be full price for
awhile--meantime, the 3790 will have been out long enough to be
discounted.

If they're both the same price, that's a difficult choice, frankly.

Dave, I can only think of the possible use of Dual Orientation in the
Portrait Mode would be of better use in Pedestrian mode when walking
around city streets -- maybe while hiking or biking. Just guessing, as
I have never used a GPS with a Portrait Mode.

I can't suggest anything re: Blue Tooth Outgoing Calls as I don't use
a mobile phone.
