I just tried it with 5 via points and it worked exactly as I said.
I already said I had done it with 3!

OK - well I didn't know that.
I wonder if it means the 250 really does support routing in spite of what
Garmin say. Can you for example, control the order in which Via Points are
inserted into the route - if you want to add another Via Point near the
start, or somewhere else, for example?

I tried it with my 350 and it does not work. If I try to insert a second
viapoint, it asks me if I want to *replace* the *one* I had successfully
entered. I guess the 250 is different from the 350.

The via points are used in the order in which they are entered.
I tried five this afternoon and got what I wanted / expected.

I see, well it's a lot better than nothing, but I still think it's a long way
from proper route management. It seems for example that you can't add via
points in any order and then re-order them as required and most importantly I
doubt if you can save the route for later use. The Nuvi 760 can save 10
routes, and my favourite gps the StreetPilots, can save 50.
