I have a Nuvi 200w and when I first had it I used MapSource and became
fairly familiar with it. I then did a back up of the software. I have had
problems with the PC that has the backup and have tried to restore it -
however one file eludes me - it is named as "Garmin_rmu_cneunt2010" The icon
represents an open box. I am guessing this is the city Navigator programme
which Mapsource claims is missing.

Any ideas on how I can restore it. I am still searching for my original CD.

Regards

John Plant

From what I've read on the Garmin forums, MapSource is no longer being
developed. Garmin recommend using BaseCamp as a replacement. That's what I
use.

arn't there some chicken vs egg issues with trying to install MapSource ?

I seem to recall that it complained
that there were no Garmin licensed map products,
and therefore would not install...

I have several Garmin maps on the same PC,
but not sure what the problem was at the time,
as maybe they were not correctly identified
within the /Garmin/ registry entries.

Easily worked around.  You can't even finish typing "install mapsource"
into Google before answers appear.

I have (literally) dumped Mapsource maps and installed OpenMaps. I even

Why pay if there are free maps?
