Greetings All,

My trustworthy C340 was working last night and suddenly it simply shut
off. I was not running on external battery at the time so I tried
connecting it with the factory power cord. Nada.

When I got home I plugged it into another battery source and it came
on. Then went off again and I haven't been able to bring it back.

I've got it plugged into my USB port on my PC but it is doing nothing.

Is there any definitive way to test or tell if this thing is really
dead or not? I would hate to replace it but I certainly don't want to
pay Garmin for a repair.

Thoughts, Ideas, suggestions?

Thanks

I'd try a reset. Basically the same thing happened to our C550 on two
occasions and that fixed it up. It was a couple years between.

If the same as the C550, as it seems it should be, pop off the bezel
and there's a reset button under there.

Once I had to remove the batteries from my 76CSx when it froze.
I was near a powerful radar station. Coincidence?

I've had to remove the batteries on a number of different Garmin receivers to
get them to run again after crashing. It's happened out in the wilderness
no where near any transmitter. Those kind of crashes have been very rare for me.
