I called tech support for help that say it's the battery and recommended i
charge it for 8 hours. She said after 8 it will work. The unit is two
years young!

I was updating favorites and then the unit went off.

If it doesn't come back on, and i buy a replacement can I swap internal
parts to keep my favorites?

Do you agree with tech support that it's the battery?

Or have any suggestions on reviving my c330?

It's my humble opinion that if the unit doesn't work while plugged into your
computer (which should be providing power to it through the USB port) and it
doesn't work when plugged into the car's cigarette lighter then it's not the
battery that's the problem. However make sure you try those options first.
By the way, if you're using a USB hub, not all hubs provide the power part:
if that's the case for you then plug your Garmin directly into a USB port on
your computer.

If you're really lucky, you may find a .gpx file on your computer. Do a
search for it. If so, I believe that file will contain all of your
Favorites. Keep a backup copy of it somewhere in case you have to
re-initialize a repaired or new unit.

On the down side, I did a search on my own computer for my own .gpx file and
was surprised to learn that I couldn't find one. I don't know why I don't
have the file, but my unit is working well so it means that file is not
always automatically written to your computer. I'm going to look further
into this.

Let us know what happens and good luck.

I located this:

Apparently newer firmware upgrades no longer create the "current.gpx" file
which contains the Favorites. So, depending upon how old your firmware is
(if you never updated it), you may have this file and be saved!

There is a web page somewhere on the WWW where a user has successfully
swapped out the spent battery with an oem part. Will try looking for it.

I would advise reading the entire thread first before attempting anything.
