I don't remember which company I bought my first one, and I believe it
costed me around $19 or so for the WHOLE SET (don't remember if I have to
pay S/H or not), when many companies sell a small amount of plactic for
around $35-40 + S/H.

        Same with the Cradle, I paid $9.95 + $1.99 S/H (from GPSCity.com) when
many other including eBay wants around $20-25 (S/H included). IOW, few
bucks ain't much to cry about, but I would hate myself to give someone more
than other, especially it's just a small piece of platic that I wish some
Chinese company interests in making them so I can save even more.

But that is another story, now back to the main about PRO and CON.

PRO.

- In general the design should work well for most people. I have a
hard-case windshield bag (or handlebar bag), and the Nuvi 1490T 5" is a
little too big but manager to get it to work (it has almost about 1/2"
clearance at full turn to almost touch the gas tank)

- They do make and sell the cradle sepately (universal mount) so you can
just buy the cradle for different model to save few bucks.

CON

- The design after you scewed the last screw, it doesn't give you the option
to adjust the cradle.

Since the Nuvi 680 is smaller and it's so bad in bright light and the
brightness is too DIM to be usable in daytime (especially direct sun) so I
screwed it TIGHT. But the Nuvi 1490T is little larger, it doesn't give much
room left so I had the screw a little loose (still require some muscle to
turn a little), but for some reason it losen itself up.

And to solve the problem, I just DRILLED a HOLE to the cradle so I can
stick the sscrew driver through the hole to tighten/losen the screw (if I
need some adjustment).
