Can someone here who has used Metroguide Australia (or knows with
certainty), confirm that it doesn't do autorouting? This is what I find
online, but I know there is lots of bad information circulating about
Metroguide Canada, so I wanted to confirm with someone who has direct
experience with the product.

Hi,

when I first got my 60CSx, I also installed Metro Guide and was not able to
auto route. After calling Garmin, they confirmed that Metro Guide does NOT
auto route on my 60CSx and I would need to get City Navigator !! You might
need to get City Navigator Australia NT 2009 to be able to auto route.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

JCE

Thanks, that confirms my thinking.

My only worry was Metroguide Canada does in fact autoroute, but you hear all
the time online that it doesn't, (because people confuse it with Metroguide
North America which doesn't), I just wanted to make sure that there wasn't
something similar in Australia before I shell out the bucks to get it.

Hi Dale,

I believe, on some older Garmin GPS Units auto routing with Metro Guide does
in fact work, but not with the newer ones, with them you need City
Navigator. Not sure about MetroGuide Canada, never tried it..............

I think it varies by country/region. I know Metroguide Canada will autoroute
on the GPS (even on the latest GPSrs).
