Is there a limit to the size of sd memory that the 76CSx
will use or could I put a 2Gig card in it if I wanted to?

If the 2G card will work, would there be any drawbacks to it
such as access time possibly?

The "x" series handhelds are being used with 1Gb cards with no problems
noted yet. I don't recall anyone reporting having tried a 2Gb card yet
but I'd be surprised if they did not work.

I'm using a 1Gb SanDisk with my 76Cx, that was handy in that it came
with a SD adapter.

There was a report of there being some problems with the faster Ultra
microSD cards. That was not a first hand report and I really don't know
anything more about it and if it was accurate.

I guess we haven't seen any data re 2 GB. Possible drawbacks:

o Longer loading times (4x a 512M card, 2x a 1 GB card), so don't
leave a segment out.

o Possibility of hitting the segment ceiling .. which I think is
2050 segments or so.

Interesting, thanks. No noticable delay loading data/maps?

I think the trick is that you get an adapter that allows you to load
data to your micro-sd card while it is connected to your computer rather
than in the gps. That way, you are using USB 2 rather than the much
slower 1.1 to communicate.
