Just wondering what is the difference in the matte screen and the older
screen. Would it be worthwhile to return my Nuvi and exchange for the
newer unit?
I bought ny Nuvi fron Walmart and discovered it was old stock. It
works well and I have no problems with it.

Sounds like you have the "shiny" screen. As far as I know the Nuvi
originally came with a matte screen. Then Garmin changed to a shiny screen
and many folks complained about reflections. Garmin then returned the Nuvi
to the matte screen.
I have a nuvi 350 with the shiny screen. At first I was unhappy when I
discovered that Nuvi had returned to the matte screen thinking that I had an
inferior product. But once I learned to slightly tilt the nuvi so that it
reflects the roof of my car I became happy with my shiny version. I believe
the logic behind the shiny screen is that it's supposed to be brighter and
have better color. Note that many laptops and LCD TVs have shifted to this
bright shiny screen. If you are having reflection problems with your nuvi
and it's returnable you should consider doing that. There are also matte
screen protectors available.
Thank you very much for the great post. I guess I will keep the GPS.
I can return it for a refund if I want. I have no problem with glare
or reflections. It is mounted as far up as possable next to my mirror.
I will purchase the screen protectors just in case.
