Map Update for 60 Days

Recently bought a nuvi 295w. When I registered it after a few days, I was
offered an update that I have until Aug to download. Since I think it's
only good for one free update, does it make any sense to take it now or wait
until the end of July or early Aug? How often do they tend to update these
things?

in a time-scale of years rather than weeks/months, so you may as well
get it now :)

I'd wait. In the USA, they update about 4 times a year. Mark your calendar
and check back a few days before your 60 is up.

If you have 60 days wait until about day 55. I updated my 855 right
after I got it and they came out with another update three or four days
later.
