Garmin claimed in 2006 they'd have full Mac support out Real Soon Now.

In August 2007; they actually released betas of code to move already
unlocked maps from a PeeCee to a Mac, but that's it.

So what's the real story? I'm hard-pressed to believe that Garmin's not
smart enough to get Mapsource, etc running on a Unix base; but they are a
year+ behind schedule.

According to http://www8.garmin.com/support/mappingsw.jsp there are at least
3 pieces of software for OSX.

And among those is neither Mapsource or nRoute; the ones people use daily with
their
Garmin GPS's.

Hence my query...

Doesn't VPC (PPC) or parallels/Fusion (Intel) do the job?

VPC is painfully slow: four hours to download 56 MB. Parallels fine if
you have Intel Mac. But then, you not only have to buy Parallels; you
also have to buy Windows. (VPC includes Windows).
