Had an interesting experience with the Mac version of Webupdater. I
recently entered the world of Apple, and used the Mac version of
Webupdater for the first time today, after I noticed that there was a
new version of software for the 550 (6.20). The Webupdater seemed to
run fine -- found the unit instantly. However, even though my 550 has
software version 6.10 and there was a new version 6.20, Webupdater
reported that my 550 was up-to-date. I had to go the manual downlaod
area to get 6.20, but of course the executable supported only Windows,
not Mac, so I had to go back to Windows XP to use the executable to
install 6.20. A pain. It all ended up fine in the end, but I'm curious
as to why the Mac Webupdater reported the 550 as having the latest
version when it didn't.

Of course when I went to garmin.com to leave a message for tech support
the "service" was down...

I have the StreetPilot c580 and also had to manually download the
file. The WebUpdater did not have then 6.20 file in it. Also after I
installed 6.20 manually and then ran WebUpdater again it said I have
the latest software but did not have the usual option of reinstalling
latest version. So for some reason Garmin left this 6.20 update out of
the mac and my pc version of WebUpdater.

I just checked with my pc WebUpdater with my c580 connected to it and
it now has 6.20 software in the WebUpdater as it now has the option of
reinstalling the same version.
