I am new to GPS, so please bear with me.
I have a GPX file with my biking route and waypoints. I would like to
load into nuvi 260 and take for my next bike ride.
Instructions I received from the GPX file provider didn't work with
nuvi 260. I wonder if nuvi 260 even has that feature.
My extensive search on the Internet didn't provide much information.
Garmin support has a long wait. If any of you can help, I would
appreciate that.
Thanks.

It's my experience that you can't upload tracks and routes to the nuvis...
However, you should be able to upload your waypoints by uploading them first to
MapSource and then uploading them to the nuvi...
You may have to purchase Trip and Waypoint Manager, if you don't have MapSource:

You should be able to download EasyGPS (free) and use it to open the .gpx
file. You could then use it to send the waypoints to the Nuvi. Not owning
a Nuvi, I'll bow to Jack Yeazel's expertise on the tracks and routes.
Thank you both for your responses.
I was able to upload the GPX file by placing it in the appropriate
folder on the device. The device now shows individual way points in
the favorites folder. What I am not able to understand is, what is the
benefit of having a bunch of individual turn points if I can't link
them all to a route? I was hoping that the system will link them and
show me the route.
Keep in mind still that I am very new to GPS devices.
Looking at the specs of nuvi 260 on Garmin Web site, it allows 500 way
points and zero routes. I guess I have to buy a device that will allow
routes.
Again, thank you for your time.
Oh, BTW, nuvi 260 is not listed under compatible devices for Trip and
Waypoint Manager. I am beginning to suspect that I bought a wrong
product for my use without doing initial research.
