I have just zipped up a large collection of US and worldwide databases
and source data. It comes to 1.2 GB. These are either text files (some
are very large) or Microsoft Access databases. Sometimes the data is in
both formats.
I believe there are some programs out there which can read .mdb files.
If not, the source files are there, although sometimes more scattered
and not combined at the source level.
I can load it up on an unused group I know of if it will be of use to
anyone.
It has airport info in the US, US Cities and at least 13,000
international, cities (populated places) with lat/long and sometimes
population and databases of geo features smaller than populated places.
Lots of stuff! Probably more than you want, but when you want it, is
there.
When I can find my worldwide database CDs, I will reformat them and have
more than anyone could possibly want but this is a lot!
If anyone is interested, I can upload it. Did not want to upload if
nobody cares due to the size.
I might not see a response here, so write to mikey at ILikeTheInternet
(dot goes here) com with a subject of "Nav Databases" and I will post
the database and tell where it is. No response, no post. It is far too
large to email. (Do the obvious fixup on the obscured email address, of
course.)
I can also post smaller pieces of it, zipped or not, which might fit
some requests. Some of the individual pieces are small enough to email.
Just let me know and I will see what I have that matches up.
Mike
