Been wondering why no GPS company seems to offer a menu item for "UPS
turn mode"

Not sure if you're just starting out from a parking space when this
occurs or not. Only time (at least that I can recall) where I
experienced something such as this is when starting out on a new route
or resuming a route after a stop.

What happens is that as I parallel park, the Garmin determines that I
have changed direction, i.e. I did a 180 and I'm now heading south
rather than north, etc. and directs me accordingly.

If that doesn't resemble your particular circumstances, I think that I'd
tell Jack Off!<g>

I've had this happen a couple of times. I think Jack is just trying to see
if you're paying attention.

I've had that happen twice with my 855, both times I was starting a new
route while in a parking area.

I have also had my 855 change from Jack's voice back to Jill's voice
twice. Both times it happened when I hadn't used the gps for awhile and
the battery was either very low or completely dead.
