I am very close to placing an order for a 76CSx; however, I would like to
know if anyone is aware of a successor model that might be prudent to wait
for? Any rumors or opinions ... substantiated or otherwise?

Thank you very much,
David

That "x" series models have been out about a year now and are arguably
as good a mapping handheld as you can buy. I don't know of anything
better in terms of speed, accuracy, and features and I've not heard of
anything that might take its place soon.

Garmin does not seem to spend a lot time telling us about their hardware
planning or developments though, they announce some new products here a
few months before their planned availability:

Thank you so much, Jack.
Appreciate the confirmation.
Helpful as always!
Am very much looking forward to the upgrade from my present 12Map.

David, I'm sure that you are well aware that one never catches up with
technology. Surely a newer device will be available on the day after
you make your purchase.

For what its worth, I have had a 76csx for over a year now and love
it. With product life being what it is, I'd guess that something
better is due shortly, but who knows? Garmin surely won't tell and
disrupt current sales.
