Please help..... I am considering purchasing a Garmin 60CSx for some
Colorado Elk hunting in the Salida / Gunnison areas this fall and
wondering if the maps you can buy show these areas well enough to hunt
with?? I have no idea yet what maps are available, if any, for GPS
use?
Thank you for any help or recommendations!

Go to http://www.garmin.com/cartography/ and you'll find "MapSource Map
Viewer" with a drop-down list of all of Garmin's map products. You can
zoom in and pan around to see exactly what each product offers.

The "City Navigator" products are street maps, so probably not what
you're looking for for hunting, but the various "Topo ..." maps might
be.

No, not at all. I suggest a plastic coat hanger hung from a cotton fiber
string, maps of the Gobi Desert and lots of guess work. This gives the elk a
better chance ;-

Run, Bambi, run!

With all due respect......
Unless you are a vegetarian and don't eat meat, the mighty and elusive
Elk has a much better chance of survival from me or any other hunter
than does a beef or pork animal, or chicken, etc. have in a butcher
plant. It's frightening to think how those animals are sometimes
heartlessly slaughtered................. Just my humble
opinion........ But thanks for the reply! All I am trying to do is
to keep my butt from getting lost and from becoming the hunted........
