I do appologize for being old and forgetful!
What is/was the name of the Garnin 'Freebie' that allowed you to
use your laptop to show your progress 'live' with a Garmin GPS plugged
into a USB?? INRoute???
I'm sure I saw it refered to here recenlty with the discussion of
running different version of MapSource!
What I really need is a GPS that can handle off road with about a 5
inch display on my snowmobile - much smaller would be hard to see.
Since I already have my Rino 530 HCx's that I would carry anyway for
the Radio and Location of the other Rino - I'm thinking the solution
would be of one of the newest cheap (~$100) tablets) with my Rino
providing the GPS info via USB and the Tablet displaying it nice and
Large!. But would INRoute work on a Windows's Linuz VM??
Pretty much anything I have enviosined over the years has become
possible - but by that time I envsion something More!! (Well - the
whole Time Travel IDeas have yet to be seen but... ;-)
Thanks!
Duh-Ah!!

Yes, you are very close. not "INRoute" but rather "nRoute".
Garmin actually discontinued nRoute, and now Garmin has a new product called
garmin Mobile PC.
You may find discussions of the old Garmin nRoute, as well as the new garmin
Mobile PC at: http://www.laptopgpsworld.com/garmin-mobile-pc/
