me too. I think it has to do with the idea that I basically know
where I'm going in the ahead direction but things that might be of
interest that I'm not aware of are going to be off to the side, like
different routes around a traffic tie up or something.

unless of course it is only the GPS version of TV's "stretch-o-vision."

Which is only useful as such if you're using a "track up" display mode.
I don't think I've *ever* used that for long. North Up just seems to
work so much more smoothly...

No, it's useful always, not just in a single tracking mode.
