I'm taking a driving trip from Rolla Missouri to Tucson
AZ then Silver City NM and then across Texas to Tyler
TX and back to Rolla

I will be doing research for a new place to move and
live

I have no GPS at all right now and def want one for
this trip. I don't need every bell and whistle but at
same time don't want to go to bare bones

I would be willing to spend up to $150.... no more

DrivenGPS has pretty good supply of refurbished
models... but I really don't keep up on this technology

What Garmin model would be a worthy contenders?

I do want spoken street names, lane guidance, etc.....
but do I need BlueTooth? I really don't know

I will be leaving in 3 weeks so time is getting
short.... I'm ready to buy now to make sure the unit
works well before leaving.

Advice?

Just buy a Nuvi 255W or 265W for $120 or $150 at Best Buy and I bet you'll
be happy.

Also, after you gain some experience with it, you will have learned a lot
and you'll have a better idea of what you like and don't like for your next
purchase.

Bluetooth is up to you. Do you use a cell phone on the road? Then get it
(the 265) if your car lacks it.

Oh geez, what choices of cities/towns. ;-)

Good thing you'll visit Tucson at this time of year. If you can stand the
infernal heat, you might like it there. (Hint: stick your head in a 400
degree oven.)

Back on topic, I would agree the aforementioned Nuvi's should suit you fine.
