If you don't care about the lifetime maps, you can save another $50 by
buying elsewhere online.

And if you don't mind buying a used Tom-Tom with a cracked screen you
can save even more<G>

My point was this was a very good deal on the package. I picked up my
765T for ~ $200, on sale, and then spent another $90 for the lifetime maps.

Your point is?

I guess my point is that not everyone is interested in buying a
"lifetime" map subscription for an item that will likely have a
relatively short life. Thanks for asking.

And it's a good point, even if made obliquely. "Lifetime" refers to the
lifetime of the technology in question, not that of the purchaser. In the
case of Garmin maps, which are $100 plus a pop, $50 is still a pretty good
deal.
