I'm having trouble using the downloads at
<http://garmin.na1400.info/routable.php >. I use the tabs to get to
North America (NA) and then select the USA. The download dies. "Error:
No (valid) maps selected. Please try again selecting one or more maps.
Go back." If I select Calif under NA, the site provides a list of cities
in the state. I guess they are downloadable, but it seems like the whole
USA should be available. in one file.
Im using a Nuvi 200 and it has a map for the entire USA. Aside from the
download problem, maybe a download of the USA might not fit on the 200
anyway.
Comments?

Clicking on the United States certainly selects no tiles (the
ones selected change colour, and get listed down the left side of
the page).
If you instead tick the box "enable manual tile selection", and
zoom and pan to the USA, you'll be able to select and add tiles
by clicking on them individually.
The lack of a pre-defined set of tiles for the USA is discussed

Maybe. In any case, you'd need an SD card big enough to hold it.

Though see the note at the top of the page: "The server has limited
resources, only request the tiles you really need please.".
So I'm not sure if manually selecting the whole of the USA is a good
idea (or if it will work)
You could try this website, which has premade complete USA maps, based
on the maps from Lambertus:
http://daveh.dev.openstreetmap.org/garmin/Lambertus/
It looks like its currently about 2.6GB for a complete USA gmapsupp.img
file.

That thread seems to be about a complete USA planet extract (in OSM XML
format), as opposed to maps in Garmin format.

I found it useful to alternately use the check box as I zoomed and

positioned the map along with selecting tiles.

I selected tiles for all of California and asked for a build. It's been

more than 8 hours, and I have not received a reply. I figure the site
must be down. I also selected a single tile an hour later, and asked for
a build. Nothing back via e-mail on that either.
Foiled again by my Yahoo mail spam filter. Both files went to a server
spam folder. They are now on my PC. I see about 8-10 items listed on the
web page where I downloaded the four osm files. Somewhere along the line
I grabbed a magic....zip and PP_SsI98j.zip file. Unzipping the PP file
didn't reveal what it's about. Well, it seems to be about Magic Mail. I
am familiar with it, but why is it here?
