it would appear that the firmware and operating features
vary from series to series, and even models within the same series.

ie - my Garmin Nuvi 260 does not have the satellite corner "feature",
and yet I think someone with the 260w indicated his worked...
The menus may also be slightly different.

Anyway - once the Garmin website gets back up and running from "maint" mode,
I'm going to send that question off to support....

Thank you. When I posed my original question, I had in mind some
technique like the one you describe. I *did* get it to work, although
it's not quite obvious how to get from selecting a "Favorites" location
to getting to "Set Loc" for it. (select the Favorite location; "Go";
zoom out the map; scroll map to get the target location on screen, zoom
in the map; put the arrow pointer on the target location while in the
tightest level zoom; "Set Loc"; go back to Main Menu; go to "Where To?";
go to "Coordinates").

Now I have two methods to get the coordinates for a location in my
Favorites.

Thanks to you and Jack.

here's what I received from Garmin -
hmmm - a GPS that can't display GPS coords, go figure....
Not much help for a rural or camping situation when you have a location
and want to tell someone to meet you there - but can't give them the
coords...
I have a Garmin 12 for camping, and the Nuvi 260 for the car.
---
Thank you for contacting Garmin International. There is no way to display
the coordinates of the saved favorite in the Nuvi 2xx series devices. If you
wish to see the coordinates you can do this once you arrive at that favorite
by going to Where To then Coordinates icon and this will display your
current lat and long.

I posted a message in this thread on May 14 with a description of how I
displayed the coordinates of a "Favorite" location, on my nüvi 650. I
realize that the 2xx series and 6xx series of nüvis are somewhat different,
but perhaps my procedure might work for you?
