Isn't the clue in "Alps & DACH"?
Surely it's a map of the Alps which would necessarily show parts of Germany,
Austria and Switzerland (though not France, it seems).

I think OP is actually fussing over the detail/POI included rather than
the coverage. But considering that the file size and area covered is
approximately proportionate, I'd think it easier to handle as "this is
just a geographic chunk of the Euro territory."

But I'm the kind of person to just buy the big one, and buy it on SD so
it'll be useful on a different unit as well. It's only another 50% more
money for 400% more coverage.

yup - you and I are thinking the same way - based on the file sizes
and the comment later from Hasse....

funny how some other folks
can't really understand the focus of the topic,
and seem compelled to offer insights to the obvious....

If one looks at the coverage map it actually covers the south-eastern
portion of France and northern part of Italy as well. I suppose that is the
Alps portion of the name.

As for the map details they are the same. In Europe Garmin sells a lot of
different versions which covers a smaller area. But the data is the same for
that area. It is for people who want the lowest price and does not travel
all over Europe.
