I am using Garmin GPS II Plus and Garmin 76,GPS Map 76, GPOS Map 76 CX
nd GPS Map 76 CSX, canI still do a Garmin to Garmin transfer of data
between them with the proper cable?

        You should, and the data works or not may depend on the serial.

Another option is to use a PC and use Mapsource to move waypoints
between Garmin GPS devices.

Hi Peter, thanks for your post, the reason I would like to use the
cable is to be able to transfer data in the field. I have a bunh of
friends with Garmins and it would be nice when I run in to someone to
be able to transfer data between units.

A third option (again not allowing direct connection to friends'
units) is the free USAPhotomaps. Both are easy to use and are GPS-
friendly. If nothing else, they can be used to archive waypoints and
you only download those of interest for your next outing, etc.
