I recently noticed that certain favourites that I had saved to the GPS
were showing up in duplicate afterwards.

I deleted all of the dupes and the next day when I turned the unit on
again, I noticed that some of the dupes came back while others did
not.

Has anyone else seen this? Know of a fix? Even have this unit?

Did you import them to the 680 via the SD card? And are they still on
the card? If so, maybe it is importing them again every time it is
powered up.

Look for a *.gpx or *.gdb file on the SD card.

No, I just entered the address or found the point of interest, and
then saved it to Favourites. I have no idea if it is going onto the SD
card or internal memory. I will have to take a look at the SD card and
see if it has anything on it. The manual is not very useful when it
comes to describing what can and cannot be stored on the SD card viz.
the navigation function (I know that it can be used to store songs,
pictures and all that sort of useless stuff).

When connected to a PC with a SD card in it, it will be seen as two
removable drives. One is the SD card and the other is the internal
memory. I think the names will sort out which is which.

I know. I just popped out the SD card and put it into the laptops'
card slot. It was empty as I expected.

I also noted that, today after the second set of deletions, there were
no duplicates. How weird is that? Makes no sense.

Thanks for the help, though.
