My US nuvi 255W is a few months old and has started to run pretty warm
operating on the battery and hot when plugged into the car.
Not in sunlight, car has A/C on, unit mounted in bracket with ample
ventilation.
Normal behavior-- or time to contact tech support?

How about your computer. Is that cold when you use it?

Warm of course, but what got my attention with the GPS is the recent
*increase* in operating temp...

If you go into the diagnostics (by holding the battery icon for 7 seconds),
one of the things it tells you is the internal temperature. This might help
quantify how warm 'pretty warm' is...
By way of comparison, I just had a look at a Nüvi 760 after 30 minutes
running - temperature was 36deg C.
