I downloaded City Navigator Europe v7 for my trip to the UK but after
installing it on my GPS, I found out I needed an unlock code for
it....cost: $300. So, I went about looking for a keygen all over the
internet but couldn't find one anywhere. Several sites said that it did
not exist, you have to get it from Garmin and there is no way you can
hack it etc. etc.
Anyway, I found this guy on the internet who offered to send me unlock
codes for the City Navigator Europe for a fee of $40. He claimed to
have a keygen which would generate unit specific unlock codes for any
map. To prove himself, he offered to send me a "temporary" unlock code
(he called it an EVAL code) which would work for a week and then
expire. I didn't thin I had anything to loose so I sent him my Unit ID.
I just received my "EVAL code" this morning and I tried it and
walla...it actually works.
I am ready to send him the $40 via paypal but have a couple of
concerns:
1) Knowing the nature of the internet, if a keygen exists, it will be
posted somewhere. I'm quite confident about my net search capabilities
and the fact that I couldn't find a keygen anywhere, I'm a bit
surprised that it actually exists.
2) I'm still sceptical about the keygen's existence which leads to my
next concern...Maybe Garmin themselves are putting up this show to get
my identity with the intention to come after me for purchasing pirated
software (are unlock codes even considered software?). Does that sound
too far fetched?
Thanks for your comments.

I don't know the answers to your question but I'm slightly
confused. What needs unlocked are the maps. If you got them
from Garmin they came with an unlock code and if you lost
it, I'd call them.
If in fact it is pirated, I can't/won't help you.

not the updates.
I do see some things out there that indicate he might be telling the
truth. Then again, he might not be. As with all things gray, you take
your chances.
