ok - found this today while browsing the Garmin website -
https://my.garmin.com/geocaching/geoSearch.htm
tried it out - and it's really BAD -
#1 - you can only download 5 caches per day per GPS device
I can live with that as a very basic download
#2 - I couldn't figure out where these POIs were downloaded ?
Turns out - they just get merged into Favs - with no added category !
#3 - the display for the cache entry has NO additional textual info
such as the Name or the Coords, etc -
just the bare cache name like - GC1P216 -
However, you can touch the Map for a view, like any POI.

Well OK -
because of various GPS limitations, and different capabilities,
even going to the Geocaching website and downloading directly from their
basically yields the same results....
It is interesting that on the Geocaching website
I can download directly to the GPS via the browser,
and have a GPX format file with all the info.
You can see this by merely opening the GPX file with Notepad.
But the Nuvi doesn't look at the "desc" field,
but merely the normal address, city, state, etc fields...
SO - even though the data is there - in the desc field -
the Nuvi doesn't display any of it.

BTW - for me - for Geocaching -
I still prefer my old Garmin 12 - very very basic GPS -
Point and shoot - walk till the coords are zero, then look around...
I download the Geocaching info directly and just need the Geo-name and
coords -
Tried to use my Nuvi once and just didn't work as well for me...

I'm not surprised. The Nuvis are designed for use in a vehicle. They are just
not suitable for serious outdoor use. Apart from anything else the
construction is so flimsy I guess they would just fall to pieces if carried
around for any length of time outdoors.
My very first GPS unit was a Garmin 12 which I used for several years until I
carelessly lost it. I then replaced it with a GPS 72 which is similar but has
a better display. I still use that all the time when walking - I don't find I
need anything more.

I use a Garmin GPS60, which is pretty basic along with my HP IPAQ pocketpc
which I have a pretty good selection of Geocache programs to pick from.
