Hi!
I have a Garmin GPSMap 60cs and want to get a 60csx for the memory
cards. Are there any other differences between them besides the
ability to read memory cards?
Is there a maximum limit for memory card sze in 60csx? If I fill up a
1 GBcard with lots of maps, will it be too slow??

The "x" series models also have the SiRF III chip set. That chip set
and the memory cards make a big difference in performance and capacity.

Not sure what the limit is or will be but the 2 GB microSD card are
being widely used with no problems. My recommendation would be to stay
with a major brand like SanDisk.
I've heard that 4 GB cards will be able to be used when available, but
I'm not sure that 4 GB microSD cards are widely available yet.

For info avoid the fast SanDisk cards (Ultras I think)
I have a standard 2gb card loaded with metroguide Europe and there has been
no noticeable drop in speed from the 64Mb standard card.
