Hi folks.
I whipped up a test layout in GE and saved it to a KML file. That
file I translated with GPSBabel, and shoved the GPX file into my 705.
Works like a charm.
Going the other way is a bit strange though. How do I save a "route"
recorded on my 705 into GE? The file is a .tcx file. What do I do in
GPSBabel to turn into something I want? I translated into a kml file,
but it isn't showing up in GE.
Is this a GE issue or a GPSBabel issue?
Cheers

I can't answer the last question but to save your route in GE just
load it into Mapsource then from the "View" menu choose "View in
Google Earth". Then save the Google file.

Hi Larry. Thanks for the response. I'm not sure I follow what you
mean by saying "load it into Mapsource".
Edge 705 holds the .tcx file. I translate that using GPSBabel into a
kml file. I can drag that onto GE and it's in the library, just not
showing up at all. I am so close.
Cheers

Sounds like you do not have Mapsource. That is a Garmin product that
used to come with all map sets. I would contact Garmin and find out
how to obtain a copy so you can easily do what you want. Mapsource
will show your routes, tracks and waypoints in Google Earth. Then
you save the Google file and you have what you were asking about.
