Hello,
I read that the new Garmin Colorado has built-in DEM data. Does it
cover the USA only or the entire world?
Specifically, how does it compare to e.g. SRTM3 data over Europe?

Thanks,
Federico

Hi,

the base map covers the entire world - including DEM.
The DEM compares to GLOBE (=srtm30).

Is it possible to replace it with a more detailed DEM?
SRTM3 is freely available and it's much better.
However, I couldn't find any info on making custom maps with DEM data.

Thanks,
Federico

Yes and No. You cannot replace the DEM but you can use maps with more
detailed DEM.
