Hello all,
I have just started to get update notices on my Garmin 550.
I am not interested in doing a update.
Can this message be turned off OR how long will it continue to annoy
me??
Thanks,
Les

No.
Every now and then until forever.
Deal with it. If this annoys you, I'd hate to think what happens when
real tragedy happens.

AFAIK, it only happens once in a day when first starting up.
That extra screen touch can really tire you out, right?

I would suggest taking a picture of the screen. Then stand on the

Thanks to Elmo, willshak & Lon.
Your snide remarks really tell me how narrow a life you must have that you
must use that attitude to tell me the same thing. Really adult of you. I
am no longer annoyed since I will just not bother to turn the GPS off.
As for not doing a update I really fail to see the need to do so for my
application. All Garmin's that I know of still have my street address off
my 16 house numbers. For those that think it is my fault, it really is a
math issue that I decided was not worth my time to be concerned with. The
accuracy of roads suits me just fine and when the GPS is off a bit, I have
the intelligence to figure out where I need to go.
Hope you all had a good Christmas and a Happy New Year.
You may now resume your previous status.
