Seems to work fine in many ways. This is my first GPS. Got the Sandisk 1 gig
card got the areas I use and them some so that part should be okay.
Instructions from the unit for the most part are okay. After trying it on
routes I know it is pretty decent to understand. It is easy to read the map
on the unit and it is very visible. I did get the external antenna so I
would not have to put the unit on the windshield. I do have it set for the
loudest volume and that is for my wife. Programming was not bad, but was
easy because of help from the newsgroup. About the only annoying part is the
waiting and the unit asking questions about where I am. Seems to take a long
time for this thing to figure out where it is. Usually about 10 to 20
minutes. Might have been 5 once or twice but usually in the 10 to 20 minute
range. It looks like I have to answer the questions or the unit does not
keep looking. I am guessing as I have left it alone to see if it would get
back to what it is supposed to do on it's own. But once it kicks in it's
fine. Guess I have to learn to start it up ahead of time. Outside of that I
am pretty well pleased about it. Monday I take off from Boston to North
Caroline. Should be interesting. Thanks to al those who took the time to be
helpful.
