Hi,

I am planning a trip to Europe with my dad and will be renting a car
while there. I have a Garmin 360 and my dad has a newer 260W. We are
going to buy the Europe map for our travel but I'm not sure which unit
to load it to.

Thanks in advance...

The model you like the best?

Rather than have a stranger make up your mind, use each one for a couple of
hours and then decide. Use them both at the same time even and see which
you'd like to view. Then report back as to which one and why.

You might also consider either renting a GPS when you get to Europe or
even buying a very cheap one that you can give away to someone (or
keep) when leaving Europe or when returning to the US.

You may find it cheaper, in the long run, and less aggravating than
purchasing maps here and trying to use your US Garmin there. You won't
need a Whizz-Bang model over there. Just one that gets you from point
A to B and has decent installed POIs.

Neither the 260 or the 360 is exactly 'Whizz-Bang', but why would you not
need one 'over there' as you put it? I would have said exactly the opposite -
when I'm at home I just need A to B routing, but on a trip abroad I want to
plan interesting routes and so on. Of course for that you would need a 500 at
least.

Consider getting the SM card version, which you can use on either unit,
and/or sell on eBay when you get back.
