And I do, Peter. But also, I'm beginning to realize that their search
engine is somewhat flawed and is somewhat counter-intuitive.
The broader one makes the search parameters in Garmin Map Source/GPS the
fewer the hits that are returned. That makes absolutely no sense.
If you fail to select a state and do a name search on a city, you will
bring up the name of every city (AFAIK) that's in the database. If you
then add the State name as part of your criteria, only those cities
existing within that state will appear as you type in the information.
That's just the reverse of what happens, sort of, kind of <g>, when you
search for a Place using the same freakin' database and search engine.
Garmin's search isn't flawed, the users brain is flawed. Artificial
intelligence takes a lot of computing power which you cannot get in a 3x5
package. The problem with most GPS users is that they feel they don't have
to think and that the database is going be perfect. Wake up, you still have
to think.
