Have just bought a Garmin GPSMap 60CSx which looks very nice and has an
excellent display. Have loaded a decent base-map (Topo GB) and putting it
through its paces but I'm having difficulty finding out how to do
something which was easy with the Geko 201 - navigating to a saved track.
I have loaded the track I need with the unit in USB Mass Storage mode
(manual not helpful here, I eventually found out how to put it into Mass
Storage Mode by searching on the Net) and the track is duly present on
the unit alongside a track dated today, both in .gpx format.
This is what happens...
Enter and I get asked do I want to delete this track! I press No and I go
back one screen.
Why is there no option to navigate to this saved track?
TIA

I double click Menu to get to Menu page > Click enter with Tracks

on the SD card) > Highlight Setup and click enter > Go down to Data card

I have a 76CSx (same animal--different skin) and I suspect it is because it
is only on the SD card and there is nothing in base memory to refer to it --
like file allocation in a computer. I noticed that after saving a track and
then looking at it with mapsource, many details were missing. Read the card
.gpx directly--there they were!

download the track from the SD card to the PC and then send it to the 60CSx
(not to the data card) with a program like MapSource. If the track contains
more than 500 track points it will truncated in the receiver (truncated to
the first 500 points). IF you rename the track ACTIVE LOG (must be
capitalized) before sending it to the unit, all the data will be
transferred.

So, a question, is there a file extension to the ACTIVE LOG file?
I have to upload five tracks to the unit for a Greek holiday this year.
Seems like the only way I can do it is by uploading each track one by one
from Mapsource to the active memory and then saving it to the internal
memory of the unit? Seems a long-winded business! Does anyone know how
big the internal memory is?
Thanks again.
